One Lens - Many Uses
Traditional didymium glass lenses reduce sodium flare but cannot be used for high temperature flameworking without layering on additional IR-blocking welding shade protectors. VetroSafe incorporates infrared-blocking as standard in every pair enabling seamless use over a wide range of conditions.
-
Soft Glass
Even with reduced flame intensity used in soft soda-lime glass flameworking, extended exposure to localized high intensity light can be hazardous. VetroSafe provides comprehensive blue-light filtering and infrared light attenuation in a ground-up lens designed to deliver high brightness visibility for everyday use.
-
Hard Glass
Borosilicate glass flameworking and fabrication of large workpieces take torch intensity to high levels, necessitating additional protection from invisible infrared light. VetroSafe exceeds ANSI 87.1 Welding Shade #3 protection to provide continuous protection across a wide range of glass types and work size without switching eyewear.
-
Glassblowing
Furnaces used in glassblowing range between 1000 to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit and pose a significant ocular infrared light hazard even under relatively short exposure conditions, leading to potential for development "glass blower's cataracts". VetroSafe R4-rated lenses block an average 95% of near-infrared light between 780nm to 2000nm.
-
Welding Shade #3
U6L3R4-rated lens exceeds ANSI Z87.1-2020 W3.0 with R4 95% average infrared light blocking to ensure adequate IR protection regardless of torch intensity and glass type.
-
True Color Vision
Advanced color corrected lens design with chromaticity white-point less than 0.01 xy units from neutral enables accurate color checking without interrupting workflow.
-
Sodium Flare Blocking
Precision wavelength-selective OD5+ sodium flare filter removes yellow light in torch flare for a clear view of the work piece during flameworking.
-
Blue-Light Filter
Advanced 420nm HEV blue-light filter passes good blue-light while eliminating harmful blue-light for reduced eye strain and prevention of macular degeneration.
-
Z87+ Impact-Rated
Lens and frame made with lightweight industrial-strength high-impact plastic for maximum eye protection from every angle.
-
AR Super-Hydrophobic
Ophthalmic grade anti-reflection, super-hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings provide maximum visual clarity and an ultra low friction, easy-to-clean lens surface.
